Duo is a unique electronic device that allows customised cards (financial and non-financial) to piggy back on the Duo device and exploit all the features available for the provision of purchase protection and stronger authentication.

How does Duo work?

When positioning a uniquely customized card alongside the Duo device, credentials unique to the card are transmitted to the Duo device to support the generation of one-time use codes – specific to that card – for secure purchasing and authentication.

All a user then does is select what they need support for when either:

• shopping at a point of sale (POS);
• withdrawing money at an ATM;
• shopping online; or
• authenticating to a service.

After that, they simply input their secret 4-digit PIN directly into the device which then generates the one-time use response needed for them to then use for whatever they’re trying to do.  Only this time, securely and without fear of being defrauded.
